Ciao! Hitting the heart button is a great & free way to support my work. Grateful you’re here :)

The Moon will renew itself in the sign of Leo on August 4 at 7:13 AM EDT, which coincides with Mercury turning retrograde (August 4/5, depending on your time zone).

A New Moon is a point of deep silence and profound cosmic emptiness, that’s brimming with potential.

It is the beginning of a new lunar month, a new seed is being planted.

A full moon is the completion of the growth of the seed, a time of fullness and harvesting.

New moons appear invisible or vanish as they align with the sun, causing about 3 days of darkness. Eventually, a thin crescent (Waxing Crescent) starts to emerge.

Many folks observe the New Moon as a time for rest, reflection, and letting go, while they observe the Waxing Crescent as the true start of the new lunar phase because there's more light.

Trust your body’s wisdom to find what feels right for you.

Personally, I try to do as little as possible around the New Moon. This is partly because during most New Moons, I feel exhausted due to my body’s own cycles.

So I do not always set intentions or do rituals during the New Moon (or any other moon).

New Moons are perfect for resting, recuperating, and preparing for new beginnings.

They offer a chance to set intentions for how you want to feel, what goals you have, and where you want to focus your energy in the future. It’s your moment to consider the intentions or goals you want to set with this fresh lunar energy—should you choose to.

Tune in to what your body, the vessel for your intuition, tells you.

Cultivating a relationship with the moon (or any other planet) in this way is powerful. It also helps you intuitively understand what each New Moon and Full Moon is doing for you without someone having to tell you.

The power of every New Moon and Full Moon can vary for each person. Their influence hinges on various astrological factors and a person’s unique natal (birth) chart.

The positions of the planets and their transiting aspects during these lunar phases determine the extent of their impact on an individual.

It is through the lens of the birth chart that we decipher the varying impact of these cosmic transits understanding that not every lunation holds equal sway.

If you’re a self-identifying highly sensitive individual, you might find that you have a heightened sensitivity to the Moon’s phases. Your finely tuned emotional and intuitive nature could make you more attuned to the subtle energies and rhythms associated with the Moon.

Governed by the Sun and ruling over the heart, the New Moon in Leo is a powerful time for heart-centred growth and new beginnings that are also connected with your purpose.

Real growth and healing happen when we take actions that bring us closer to our own heart. The place where our Truth resides.

new moon in Leo guided meditation

When we stop abandoning ourselves—our heart and our soul—and instead hold a mirror up to ourselves, we confront all the ways we’ve turned our back on Spirit and the needs of our heart.

Leo’s zodiac archetype is the embodiment of authentic self-expression.

The invitation here is to remember + innerstand that self-worth is only attained through being with the Self, not through pleasing others.
