Scorpio season. Underworld season. Excavation season.
Power retrieval season. Sex magic season.
Before I sat down to write this the other day, I briefly stepped outside for some fresh air with my cup of coffee in tow.
I then noticed how the evening fog wrapped the trees in the distance in a quiet, mysterious haze, with only the outline of the familiar landscape piercing through the muted light.
The air felt heavy yet cool, and I thought, “The universe has perfectly curated this atmosphere for Scorpio season.”

The New Moon in Scorpio arrives on Nov. 1 at 8:47 a.m. ET / 5:47 a.m. PST, while the veil is still delicately thin and our connection to the spirit realm is heightened.
It is during this sacred Scorpio season and new moon time that we are invited to reflect on the themes of death and rebirth that resonate so deeply within the Scorpio archetype.
During a new moon, we are plunged into the darkest and initial phase of the lunar cycle, as the moon vanishes entirely from the night sky, positioned exactly between the Sun and the Earth.
In this darkness, we encounter the potent energies that Scorpio embodies—depth, intensity, passion, desire, and introspection—encouraging us to confront what we may have tucked away, allowing us to reclaim the fragmented parts of our soul and power.
Ruled by Mars, the protector, there is also a call to examine the armour we wear, which may manifest as defensiveness or reactivity. While these defence mechanisms can shield us from pain, they also keep us stuck in old cycles we’re meant to sever.
The new moon occurs at 9° Scorpio, situated in Scorpio Decan I, which is double-ruled by Mars and carries a distinctly martial energy.
Here, desire and hunger are ferocious yet insatiable; even when attained, they often lead to disappointment as they arise from a primal, cyclical nature.
Although you might be eager to engage in the common practice of setting intentions and manifesting your desires with the new moon, the offering with this lunation is to delve into what cannot be easily illuminated on the surface.
This new moon is ruled by a debilitated Mars that is part of a grand water trine with Mercury in Scorpio and Neptune in Pisces.
What that means is your discernment might be blurred, and you’re not “seeing” things as they truly are right now. So, pushing to pursue those desires might leave you disappointed.
Scorpio’s essence encourages us to tune in to our intuition, listen to our body’s signals, explore our dreams and downloads, and notice the subtle nudges and emotions that arise.
In this introspective space, with the lunation trining Saturn in Pisces, consider these questions: what desires do you possess that might not be aligned with immediate action right now, and how can you practice patience in this in-between space? What feelings are bubbling up beneath the surface, and what insights can you draw from them? In which areas of your life do you feel the need for deeper exploration to excavate the truths you’ve been avoiding? How can you honour the wisdom of your body and intuition as you navigate this lunation?
This is what supports new life—your rebirth.
Where is this new moon energy unfolding in your chart?
The new moon will be most impactful for those who were born with planets and angles around the 9º of fixed signs. (Scorpio, Aquarius, Taurus, Leo).
